Class in Brief..
Starting from the ground up we learn the core movements of Alternative Serpentine Bellydance (Formally – Tribal Fusion Bellydance) refining crisp lock pop combinations with contrasting serpentine style!.. This is a beginner / general level class suitable for Improvers and those new to bellydance or more advanced dancers simply wishing to refine technique. Join us and learn to dance for yourself!
What is Alternative Serpentine Bellydance / Tribal Fusion Bellydance ???
Alternative Serpentine Belly Dance / Tribal Fusion Belly Dance – is a powerful, mysterious and hypnotic style of belly dance. A new generation of belly dancer has evolved and this particular form of belly dancing takes elements from popular dance styles such as hip hop, flamenco, classical Indian and ballet which are fused together to create this exciting new wave of modern fusion belly dance.
What to expect in class
In this series of Alternative Serpentine Belly Dance / Tribal Fusion Belly Dance classes we will focus mainly on drilling exciting lock pop combinations, a variety of turns and spins along with belly rolls, undulations and the essential side winder for that uber serpentine fusion feel. These are some of the core skills you will need in your serpentine tribal fusion belly dance to help you develop and refine your movement vocabulary taking it to the next level and beyond.
This class starts with a Jazz / Ballet inspired conditioning and stretch workout important for any belly dancer wanting to gain a strong dance technique while strengthening and sculpting the body to improve posture, body confidence and clean footwork.
We are a fun and easy going class suitable for those new to dance, beginner improver’s and intermediate dancers who just want to focus on drills and executing clean technique. We work hard, achieve as a team and dance! Come along and try a new style of belly dance.
The studio and what to wear..
Find me at Urdang 2 every Wednesday. The studio has floor to ceiling mirrors with sprung floors. Wear comfortable clothing you can move in, go bear foot or wear socks for comfort, alternatively a jazz or ballet shoe if you have sensitive feet. Yes you can keep your belly covered however a fitted top helps both you see your movement better in the mirror. Leggins and a tank top works best, wear a simple hip scarf for your comfort if you prefer to.

Getting to the studio..
Urdang2 is only 5 to 10 minutes walk from Angle tube station. If walking from the tube turn left out of the station walking towards the junction. At the traffic lights turn left and cross over the road to via right as you walk down Goswell Road passing Virgin Active. Walk for approximately 4 minutes passing Friend Street on your right. Urdang2 will be on your right. Buzz the door to reception.
